Starting in Mackinaw City Saturday morning, I made my way slowly through the dense fog until reaching Bois Blanc Island. I then rode the shore towards Round Island and made my way to the Lighthouse, where I anchored, explored, and waited for the fog to clear up a bit before heading to ride around Mackinac Island. I didn't think I'd find a cave to explore on this short trip but Mammoth Cave was everything I could have hoped for - there is no fee or guided tour, you get to tour the four lava tube chambers at your own pace and stay as long as you'd like! There were even quite a few campers around the area. I was pretty surprised to learn there was another Mammoth Cave instead of the famous one in Kentucky!
